Four municipal airports in southern and southeastern New Mexico recently received nearly $1 million in federal funds for various improvements. The Department of Transportation announced that it will award $520.5 million in additional grants to airports across the U.S. 287 airports in 41 states will receive funding toward infrastructure improvements. The airports were selected through an application process, and FAA Deputy Administrator Dan Elwell said that grants towards airport safety were the top priority.

Gulfport-Biloxi International to receive $2.4 million for improvements

U.S. Sec. of Transportation Elaine Chao has announced that the Dept. of Transportation will award $7.7 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants to a dozen airports in Mississippi. Gulfport-Biloxi Intl. Airport will receive $2.5 million to fund airport drainage improvements, taxiway rehabilitation, equipment acquisition and terminal building renovation.
