Construction underway on new firefighting facility at South Carolina airport

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport’s new $9 million aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) facility will roughly triple the fire department’s current space once completed. The new facility is expected to be completed by December of this year. Funding for the new station came partly from federal dollars and partly from GSP’s own funds.

Missoula airport on schedule with new terminal construction

The Missoula International Airport is busy with the construction of its newest terminal project. Airport director Cris Jensen said the project is moving along smoothly. “We’re on schedule. We’re on budget. Everything is moving in the right direction,” he said.

Ten Wyoming airports get federal grants

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao announced that the U.S. Dept. of Transportation will award $7.2 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants to 10 airports in Wyoming. The largest recipient in the state was Jackson Hole Airport, which will receive $2.7 million to fund repairing an access road.

Arkansas’ Hot Springs airport receives $1.02M grant

Siloam Springs is one of three Arkansas cities to be awarded a Department of Transportation grant for airport upgrades. The airport will receive $238K to enhance safety and modernize infrastructure, including reconstruction of the taxiway lighting system.
