Nevada airports share in federal grant funding

Nevada airports are among hundreds across the country receiving grants from U.S. DOT and the FAA for renovations and updates. 287 airports to receive infrastructure grants from Department of Transportation

The Department of Transportation announced that it will award $520.5 million in additional grants to airports across the U.S. 287 airports in 41 states will receive funding toward infrastructure improvements. The airports were selected through an application process, and FAA Deputy Administrator Dan Elwell said that grants towards airport safety were the top priority.

Gulfport-Biloxi International to receive $2.4 million for improvements

U.S. Sec. of Transportation Elaine Chao has announced that the Dept. of Transportation will award $7.7 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants to a dozen airports in Mississippi. Gulfport-Biloxi Intl. Airport will receive $2.5 million to fund airport drainage improvements, taxiway rehabilitation, equipment acquisition and terminal building renovation.

Miss. airports receiving support in Airport Improvement Program

The Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport will be receiving over $660,000 in federal funding after being announced with other airports in the state as a part of the Airport Improvement Program. The grant will fund renovations to the terminal and fund installation of a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI).
