The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded upwards of $766 million for improvement projects in 279 airports across 44 states, with American Rescue Plan legislation contributing $100 million and allowing the typical local match requirements to be waived. The Airport Improvement Program distributes almost $3.2 billion each year to fund airport projects around the country.

The $16-million 15,200-square-foot expansion to the airport added two new boarding bridges, 322 gate seats and a small chapel. While not finished yet, the terminal will also house a food vendor, children’s play area and a lactation room for mothers.
